About Natick
Natick is an unincorporated place in eastern Thomas County, at 2,785 feet on the old Burlington line in the Middle Loup valley, about 7 miles east-southeast of Thedford and 9 miles west-northwest of Halsey.
History
Natick was founded in the 1880s when the Chicago, Burlington & Quincy Railroad was extended through the area, and was probably named for Natick, Massachusetts. An early gazetteer lists it as a flag station eight miles from Thedford. Its post office opened in 1887 and, with interruptions, ran until 1916.
