Ponka Tribal Cemetery, also known as St. John's Cemetery, lies on Ponca trust land along 890th Road, just west of the tribe's agency and powwow grounds at 521st Avenue, a few miles southwest of Niobrara across the Niobrara River in Knox County. It was established in 1880. Find a Grave records it as an American Indian burial ground. Anyone wishing to visit should ask the Ponca Tribe of Nebraska first; it is not a public site. Find a Grave holds 151 memorials for it, which is a record of what has been photographed and indexed rather than a count of everyone buried there.
For burial records or permission to visit, contact the Ponca Tribe of Nebraska.
