This History Nebraska marker in Bartley Town Park on Commercial Street, Bartley, tells of Mallalieu University, which the Rev. Allen Bartley founded with the town. It opened in September 1886 with 60 students and graduated its first class in 1888, but drought and hard times closed it, and its bricks went into Bartley's Methodist church.
