Branched Oak State Recreation Area, 12000 W. Branched Oak Rd. near Raymond and 3½ miles north of Malcolm, has about 1,800 acres of water, the largest lake in eastern Nebraska. It has several campgrounds (full hookup, electric and basic, plus an equestrian camp), nine boat ramps, a marina, two beaches, about 9 miles of trails, disc golf, archery and a shooting range.
