Bingham is an unincorporated community on NE 2, the Sandhills Journey Scenic Byway, and the BNSF railroad in the Sandhills of southeastern Sheridan County, about 10 miles east-southeast of Ellsworth and 17 miles west of Hyannis, at about 3,800 feet. The post office ZIP is 69335. Bingham Lutheran Church and the Bingham Cemetery serve the ranch country around it. Bingham is on Mountain Time.

History

Bingham grew up as a station on the Burlington's line west across the Sandhills, and its post office opened in 1888. The 1890 gazetteer listed a station and post office with about 20 people. The origin of the name is uncertain. Ranching has been its living ever since.
