About Lakeview
Lakeview is an unincorporated community and census-designated place of 378 people (2020) in Platte County, at 1,526 feet on 0.61 square miles, about 4½ miles north-northwest of downtown Columbus; its mail comes through Columbus (68601). It lies just north of Lake Babcock and gives its name to Lakeview Community Schools. Loup Park on Lake Babcock and the Elks Country Club are close by.
History
Lakeview is a residential area north of Columbus by Lake Babcock, part of the Loup Power District’s canal system. The Census counted 317 people here in 2010 and 378 in 2020.
