Lake Ogallala State Recreation Area surrounds the small lake just below Kingsley Dam, near Keystone. It is known for rainbow trout fishing and for winter bald-eagle viewing near the dam. The East Campground has 82 electric sites and the West Campground 100 basic sites, both reached by Keystone Lake Road. A park entry permit is required; the Lake McConaughy park office, (308) 284-8800, handles reservations.
