Hartgrave Cemetery lies about six miles north-west of Elsmere, in Goose Creek Precinct. Despite its name it served the families around it rather than one family alone — Hartgrave, Huss, Lively and Strong are among the names recorded.

Around 8 memorials have been recorded, which is a record of what has been photographed and indexed rather than a count of everyone buried there.

For burial records or plot inquiries, contact the Cherry County Clerk in Valentine. Ownership can also be confirmed through the Nebraska Statewide Cemetery Registry at the State Historical Society.
