Frye Lake Wildlife Management Area, about 1 mile north and 1½ miles east of Hyannis, takes in a 243-acre Sandhills lake with bluegill, channel catfish, crappie, largemouth bass, walleye and yellow perch; no live baitfish. Game and Parks closed it in August 2025 to build a new ADA concrete ramp, dock and vault toilet, so check its status before you go. Open to hunting and fishing; 5-mph boat limit.
