Enders Reservoir State Recreation Area surrounds the Bureau of Reclamation lake on Frenchman Creek south of Enders, about 7 miles southeast of Imperial. The area covers about 5,700 acres, including roughly 1,700 acres of water when full. Campgrounds at Area A, Area B and Center Dam/Hannibal Hollow have electric, basic and primitive sites, two accessible electric sites, showers, modern restrooms and a dump station; about half the sites can be reserved at OutdoorNebraska.gov or 1-844-637-2757, and the rest are first come, first served. Boat ramps are at No Name Bay and Area A, and all boating is allowed. Anglers catch white bass, crappie, catfish, northern pike, wipers and walleye, and there is a fish-cleaning station. Day-use facilities include shelters, picnic tables, grills, a playground and an unguarded beach. The 2,146-acre Enders Wildlife Refuge on the west end is closed to recreation in fall and winter. A park entry permit is required. In dry years the water may be low and fire bans may apply.
